PREVAILING WAGE ACT

Last year, the Illinois General Assembly passed, and Governer Bruce Rauner signed, HB 3120 (Rep. Tom Demmer, R-Dixon/Sen. Tim Bivins, R-Dixon). The enacted legislation authorizes municipalities using the prevailing rate of wages ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor (IDOL) to publish the required notice and the effective date of the determination on their website, instead of publishing them in a local newspaper. As part of the notice, the municipality must link to the IDOL prevailing wage schedule that applies to them.
